Loan Policy

EBA Equipment Borrowing Agreement

  1. I understand that I am fully responsible for borrowed equipment and that if this is damaged, lost, or stolen under my care, I will pay for its repair or replacement.
  2. I may not loan items to anyone while under my care.
  3. Unless otherwise agreed at the time of the check out, equipment must be returned to CRON offices by 10 o'clock in the morning of the next business day. I may not give items to others to return on my behalf.
  4. Equipment must be returned to a CRON staff member or a CRON student consultant as agreed. If unable to find someone, I will contact CRON offices in person, by phone, or by e-mailing cron@mit.edu to set up a time to return items.
  5. I will make sure to return all peripheral items included in my checked out equipment. These may include cables, chargers, extra batteries, or card readers. For cameras, memory cards, or external discs, I will make sure that my files and/or images are erased.
  6. Failure to abide by this EBA is an inconvenience to CRON and other members of the School and jeopardizes my ability to borrow in the future.
  7. The penalties for late returns are as follows:
    • After two late notices I will be required to leave my MIT ID or Driver's License as security.
    • After the fifth late notice, I relinquish the privilege of borrowing CRON equipment.
  8. CRON staff may suspend any equipment loan privileges at any time. CRON staff may also suspend any penalties in case of extreme circumstances.

I have read and agree to the terms stated above.
